Faithful readers of this blog will recall that one of my New Year’s resolutions was to read the Bible. I read it once a long time ago in college but it was for a humanities class and not read through the lens of my Catholic faith. This year, I decided to read it again, thinking about my faith and more carefully about what’s happening through each passage.
My middle child experienced a rite of Catholic passage this past weekend when she made her first penance.
It’s All Saints Day, a day when Roman Catholics commemorate all the saints who have gone before us. Many people have that one saint or saints they identify with and pray to when they are in need. Even if you don’t have a specific saint, there are a few that are more well-known than others.
